A slender predator with a strong sloping back, brawny neck and heavy wide forehead .

A wolf is met in all landscape zones and it is the most active successful predator, obtaining such large hoofed animals as an elk, a deer, an wild boar or a roe deer. If it's necessary a wolf develops speed up to 50-60 kms/h and is capable to cover distances up to 60-80 kms a night. The wolf avoids snow areas, where the hunting for hoofed animals is complicated, that's why it is not very rare in the depth of the large wood files. But there is a numerous number of them in the tundra, the forest-tundra, the steppe and the forest-steppe. The wolf still causes essential damage to the hunting facilities and animal industries.
