Wood-grouse ordinary Tetrao urogallus A wood-grouse is the largest wildfowl in the Siberian taiga. Males' weight is 4- 5 kg (rare 5, 5 kg ). They are really attractive. Hunting terms: April 25 till May 10. Typical places of existence are old pine and fur-tree woods. A black head with a beard, red swollen eyebrows, a green craw with a metal shade, a gray neck, b rown wings and a huge black tail - the external of an old wood-grouse male. A female is half in weight, about 2- 2,5 kg , and has a shy patronizing pock-markedfledge. In the spring they have a matrimonial period. At this time they gather on special places so called "tock". In the early morning males begin to sing - "tockovat'". They sing in the clean mornings all the best, but don't do it when it's windy and rainy. During the singing a cock becomes deaf for a while and doesn't hear the surrounding sounds. On this very feature is based this kind of hunting "na tocku". Hunting for a wood-grouse "na tocku"  -    Spring hunting is held in from April 25 till May 10. -       The day temperature is from - 5 0 С to + 12 0 С, the night temperature is up to - 10 0 С. -       The best tour term is 7 days -       The group quantity: 3-4 persons The hunting is held in the early morning (at dawn). A hunter conducted by a forester comes to the hunting place. Having arrived, they wait for a singing -"tock period". The bird gets "deaf" at the end of its song, which sung ten times a morning. The cautious and dexterous hunter can manage to make several steps towards his desired object, after that he should wait for another song. Thus from song by song he reaches the bird as near as possible. It's a very sensitive bird, that's why it doesn't give any chance to a careless hunter. The shot is made from 20- 30 m . -      The recommended weapon at the hunting - smooth-barreled guns of 12 or 16 calibres. Recommended clothes: warm hunting costume from not rustling fabric, a woolen cap, waterproof shoes with soft soles. -       The delivery from Irkutsk up to the hunting place: vehicle, in the addition motor boats, animal-drawn transport can be used. -       The time from Irkutsk up to the hunting place takes 4-6 hours; there will be a stop for an hour for resting and eating. -       Accommodation of hunting-tourists depends on the hunting place. Stay is possible in home conditions of Siberian hunters-tourists, hunting bases, winter stations, stall camps. -       Serves: timbered loghouses, furnace heating, three-single meal, Russian bath-house, toilet is outside.
